Stevann Wilson is a full-time mediator who also serves Of Counsel to the litigation firm of John C. Wilson, P. C. She has practiced for over 25 years as a trial attorney and as an attorney-mediator. She began her law practice in the litigation section of the firm of Fulbright & Jaworski in Houston, then moved to Austin to join the litigation section of Stubbeman, McRae, Sealy, Laughlin & Browder. She subsequently opened her private practice in Austin and now maintains mediation offices in Georgetown.
She has extensive litigation experience in Travis County, Williamson County, Harris County, Bexar County and a number of other geographic areas in Texas. She brings to the Alternative Dispute Resolution process her experience as a lawyer who has tried numerous cases to a jury.
Stevann has mediated hundreds of cases, many involving complex disputes, including those with multiple issues and multiple parties. She has mediated numerous business disputes. She has extensive experience in mediating employment cases centering on issues such as claims for wrongful discharge, sexual harassment, discrimination (age, gender, race, and disability), breach of employment contract and constructive termination. She has also had extensive experience mediating cases alleging professional liability, products liability, negligence, personal injury, and DTPA violations. In addition, she has mediated first party insurance matters and construction cases.
She is known for her calm, friendly demeanor and has the skill to put participants in the mediation at ease while keeping them focused on the task at hand. She is respected for her “never give up” attitude and often tells parties that she is a “Scotch-Irish, red-headed woman who doesn’t accept ‘no’ easily.”
Stevann is a past president of the Association of Attorney-Mediators and was founding President of its Central Texas Chapter. She is a member of the Williamson County Bar and its Women Lawyers Section and is a member of the Austin Bar Association and its Civil Litigation and Labor & Employment Sections. She has served as Co-Chair of the Travis County Settlement Week and as a member of the Austin Bar Association Board of Directors. She is a frequent speaker and panelist at professional seminars and training sessions. She has participated in over 50 ADR seminars organized by bar groups, ADR associations, and the University of Texas School of Law. She is AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
Stevann received her B.B.A. from the University of Texas and her J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law.
Before entering law school, she taught high school math and coached varsity tennis.
